HTC U 11 appears on Geekbench with impressive results

HTC U 11, the upcoming flagship model of the Taiwanese company made a really impressive appearance on Geekbench recently, with model number HTC CBP.

This device went through several benchmarks and comes powered with Qualcomm MSM8998 SoC (a.k.a Snapdragon 835) and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Its benchmark listing confirms that it offers 4GB of RAM and manages to score 1912 points in single core, which is so far a bit higher than the average Galaxy S8+ score for the same benchmark (1812 points).

HTC One M10 only expected out stateside in May, ‘One Watch’ a little earlier

It feels like we’ve been basically saying the same thing in anticipation of every single high-end HTC product launch over the past few years, and once again, it appears the company’s financial well-being, even its very survival, hinges on an impending flagship phone.

The problem is the One M10, aka Perfume, aka One-something-else-entirely isn’t impending enough, skipping this month’s Mobile World Congress, where the Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5 are expected to go official.

Worse yet, the One A9 lookalike may also skip the month of March entirely, seeing daylight around mid-April in London, and barely going on sale on American shores “the week of May 9th.”

HTC takes 30 percent off $650 purchases, 20 percent off $500 today only

HTC’s already customary Hot Deals are back with a vengeance this Tuesday, allowing you to buy essentially anything your heart desires from the Taiwanese manufacturer’s US e-store at a nice, discounted price.

The only requirement is to exceed a $650 value on the total bill for a 30 percent markdown, $500 if you’ll settle for a 20 percent deduction, or a measly $150 that takes 15 percent off.

Say you want the Android 6.0 Marshmallow-powered One A9 smartphone and Re Camera. Separately and outside this promotion, the two devices cost $499 and $199 respectively. Bundled together, they’re roughly 700 bucks, which HTC will knock off to just $490 through 11:59 PT on January 26.

HTC One M10 ‘Perfume’ is apparently on its way to AT&T with A9-similar design

It was only a few days ago that mobile tipster extraordinaire @evleaks casually tweeted the purported ETA of the HTC One Watch, aka “Halfbeak”, in response to queries for One M10 intel, and already, new information on the flagship smartphone codenamed Perfume is out.

Nothing too juicy or exciting, just written confirmation said handheld is headed for AT&T (among other carriers, we presume), and a cryptic phrase possibly suggesting the M10 will highly resemble the One A9.

In what way, you ask? Well, it could be software, hardware, exterior design or any combination of the three, or it could merely be aesthetics, as HTC decides to once again put off that long overdue and badly needed major high-end redesign.

Rumors point to new beginning at HTC, starting with the HTC O2 flagship smartphone

There are rumors HTC will release a new phone to replace the One M9, a device which may also mark the end of its awkward One Mx approach to nomenclature. Although the phone has been leaked as the M10, it’s also possible the phone will be called the HTC O2. It makes sense really, as it ties in with the One name used on older models, but ensures we all know it’s a sequel. However, we’re not sure what UK network O2 will make of it.

HTC One M9+ launched in China with 2K display and MT6795T chipset

HTC headed to the art district in Beijing today for the release of the HTC One M9+, and updated version of the M9 with some nice design and hardware updates and touches.

There was a lot of speculation going in to the launch of the HTC One M9+ today in China. There were questions about the overall specification, if the design of the One would change and who would be the official chip supply the flagship HTC. Well at 2:30pm in Beijing those questions were finally answered.

The HTC One M9+ isn’t just a slight specification change to adapt the standard M9 for the Chinese market but a complete overhaul with some major additions made to the phone.

There are a lot of firsts for the M9+ too. It is the first HTC to receive a front facing fingerprint scanner under a physical home button and it is the first phone (that I can think of) that uses a Mediatek MT6795T processor and the first HTC to have a 2K display.

HTC have obviously looked at what their Chinese rivals have been doing and made took the best from other phones and incorporated the details in to the HTC One M9+ while retaining classic features such as front facing Boomsound speakers.

Although the front fingerprint scanner and Mediatek chip were a surprise it was also surprising to learn that the 5.2-inch display of the M9+ is a 2K panel with a pixel density of 534ppi! I’ve used 2K panels of up to 6-inch and don’t really see much of a benefit and can hardly see the point in a smaller 2K display, but hats off to HTC for pushing the boat out.

HTC One M9+ and its fingerprint sensor ahead of its April launch

Before HTC revealed the gorgeous One M9 flagship at Mobile World Congress, there were scores of rumors that the company would launch another phablet-sized version of its flagship phone. Although we’ve yet to see the One M9+, many believe that it’s still coming, and soon.
In mid-March, noted leaker Upleaks, who correctly predicted the specs, design, and other key details about the standard One M9, recently hinted that the One M9+ will arrive in late March or early April. Here’s everything we know about HTC’s phablet so far.

HTC announces 64GB version of the One M9, but you're not allowed to have it yet

It looks like the rumours we heard earlier about the HTC One M9 coming in a 64GB version were true, with HTC confirming that it will be releasing the larger capacity handset alongside the 32GB version this month.

The 64GB version will be released in HTC's native Taiwan, but there hasn't been any news on whether or not the rest of the world will see the higher capacity variant.

Both versions of the HTC One M9 will come with a microSD card slot, so even if you go for the smaller 32GB version, you'll still have plenty of space to store your photos, music and apps.

Money money money money money

The 32GB version of the HTC One M9 will sell for 21,900 TWD (around $693, £467, AU$904), while the 64GB version will only be slightly more expensive at 23,900 TWD (around $756, £509, AU$986).

Let's hope that if HTC does bring the 64GB version of the HTC One M9 to other markets around the world, it will also keep the negligible price difference between the two.

Wireless charging could be coming to HTC's next flagship

You still can't buy the HTC One M9 quite yet but it's never too early for an HTC One M10 rumour, especially one that's come from a senior staffer at the company.

Taiwan's CTimes claims to have heard from Howard Lee (Senior Director of Project Management and Electrical Structure at HTC) that wireless charging will be a standard feature in the company's next flagship.

Presumably that means the HTC One M10 (or whatever it ends up being called), but you never know, it could arrive much sooner in the rumoured HTC One M9 Plus.

So far HTC hasn't showed much interest in wireless charging beyond the occasional accessory for its phones, but perhaps the fact that the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge feature the tech has spurred it into action.
