Bluboo Picasso 4G – NFC support confirmed

Bluboo seem to be listening to the customer feedback and they are adding a NFC function to the upcoming model Picasso 4G, the slightly innovated version of the original Picasso. Such additions are always welcome and we can just applaud and call for more from the others.

NFC or Near Field Communication is a wireless comm technology allowing the electronic devices to communicate within a very short range. It’s mostly used in contactless payments or data transfer. Thanks to the NFC support the phone can serve as a kind of “mobile wallet” and can substitute the credit card, so you can use it for example paying in parking automats, tickets booths or maybe opening doors instead of an electronic lock.

Bluboo X550, narrow bezels, large battery and PUMP Express Plus!

Press images of the Bluboo X550 have been doing the rounds showing the phone with impressive narrow bezel design, large battery and Mediatek’s Pump Express Plus.

Having not seen the Bluboo X550 in the flesh just yet, we don’t know how much creative license the designer who made this press artwork is using as the bezels on the X550 look impressive to say the least.

If we take the press images as gospel then the big battery Bluboo will have narrow bezels either side of the display and very little left over body above and below the panel.

Standout features of the Bluboo X550 are it’s 5300mAh battery from battery specialists Amprius which is good for 4 days of “normal use” and 30 days standby. Even with that huge battery on tap charging times are amazing thanks to the implementation of Pump Express Plus. Using the hilariously named technology, Bluboo claim 50% charge in only 40min and 75% in just an hour.

Bluboo X550 will feature Ampirus battery and Mediatek Pump Express plus for super fast charging

Bluboo have announced that their upcoming model, the Bluboo X550 will be one of the first devices to launch with Pump Express Plus technology.

Bluboo had previously already announced that the X550 would feature a 5300mAh battery, now we know that charging that battery will take very little time at all.

The battery in the X550 is made by a US-based start-up called Amprius, who have managed to create batteries with smaller physical size than ever offered before. The Amprius tech allows batteries to be as much as 30% smaller than similar capacity batteries.

In addition to the Amprius battery, the X550 will also be one of the first phones to ever use Mediatek’s Pump Plus charging system.

Pump Express and Pump Express Plus allows charging time to be greatly reduced through the use of a special charger and integrated power management integrated circuit.

With Plump Express Plus the DC wall charge first determines the initial voltage required to charge the battery pack based on the current charge. As the charge begins the voltage is gradually increased for a faster charge time. Pump Express Plus is designed for an output of 15W at up to 12V!

Large battery Bluboo X550 with Global 4G Mode coming soon

Bluboo are launching a new smartphone that packs a large battery and World 4G Mode for global LTE support.

As we have mentioned before Bluboo are one of the original Chinese Android smartphone makers from way back in the day. If you remember back when the JiaYu G3 was king then you most likely have some recollection of Bluboo and the phones they were making at around the same time.

Like a lot of Chinese phone makers, Bluboo have recently switched their focus away from the domestic phone market and are readying a new range of devices for international sale.

The newest in the range will be the Bluboo X550 smartphone which has two big advantages over rival phones.

Bluboo X6, fingerprint scanner and 64bit processor

While at MWC last week I was surprised to come across a lot of smaller Android phone makers such as a name from the past Bluboo.

Back in the first few years of GizChina.com, Bluboo were one of the first Chinese manufacturers to grab the imagination of international phone fans with high spec, low-cost phones. The company became a little quieter in recent years, but for 2015 they are back with a new device.

At $150 the Bluboo X6 is priced to compete with entry-level, mid-range machines, however in keeping with their past reputation for high specifications, the X6 holds a few details that similar priced phones might miss.
