Gionee Elife E8 shows off a gold chassis in new renders

Gionee’s iconic Elife range will get a new addition later this year as the flagship Elife E8 goes on sale complete with gold chassis option.

Gionee’s flagship range has been around for a few years now with the most recent models being the Mediatek powered Elife E6 then the Snapdragon packed Elife E7.

Later this year Gionee will launch the Elife E8, seen in Tenaa leaks already, and with it a move back to Taiwanese chip maker Mediatek. Details of the E8 have emerged to induce 3GB RAM, 6-inch 2K display and a camera capable of taking up to 100 mega-pixel photos! A true flagship hardware package!

Earlier Tenaa leaks also showed us a rough idea of the general design of the Gionee Elife E8 with a rear mounted fingerprint scanner, but new renders give us a better idea of the sleek metal chassis the phone will be built on.

Gionee Elife E8 to take photos in 100MP! Yes, you read it right.

More rumors of the Gionee new flagship! We already reported about the camera this week, but now, new sources claim the capability of taking 100 Mega-Pixels photos!

News about Gionee Elife S8, began to emerge with strength during these weeks. The phone that comes to replace the old E7, after a long reign, has appeared in TENAA in the last week. This week we have shown some finds about the camera that will be present on the device.

Now after a few teasers, rumors began to emerge indicating that the device can take pictures in 100Mega-Pixels! That may sound an overstatement, or even impossible, When it appears that the device in question might feature a 23.8MP sensor, probably the OmniVision OV23850.

But if we remember the case of some Oppo phones, the camera software did all the work, an advanced interpolation which resulted in crisp and beautiful 51MP pictures. We can assume that Gionee will make a similar job to result in pictures with so insane size.

Regardless, we must remember that the Elife E7 16MP camera, still offer one of the best cameras of the market, even after so long. Results of choice not only of a good sensor, but also due the good software responsible for the final work.

The Gionee Elife E8 is set to launch sometime in this year, other specs include a 2K display, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 8 mega-pixel front camera, 3250mAh battery, Fingerprint and Android 5.0, probably powered by the MT6795 SoC, but this still remains to be confirmed.

Hands on and first impressions of the Gionee Elife S7!

Gionee created quite a lot of hype for the Elife S7 which was eventually showcased at the Mobile World Congress this year, and strictly on a device level (excluding the price factor, that is), the phone has so far proven to be a win for the company.

The Elife S7 was launched in India yesterday, i.e., on April 4th for 24,999 INR (US$400) where we spent some hands on time with the device. The phone is extremely thin and feels well built, but if that will translate in to heating issues is yet to be seen.

Before speaking more about the phone, let us take a quick recap over the specs; the phone has a 5.2-inch, Gorilla Glass 3 covered Super AMOLED display with a 1920 x 1080p resolution to churn out a decent 424 ppi; it’s powered by the popular MediaTek MT6752 processor that we’ve seen on a few Chinese phones, along with 2GB of RAM and a 13 mega-pixel / 8 mega-pixel camera set. Despite being as thin as the erstwhile thinness king Elife S5.5, the Elife S7 packs a 2700mAh battery.
